FAQs

What's the difference between Azure AD and Entra ID?
It's the same product - Microsoft renamed Azure Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID in mid-2023. Existing tenants, licences and APIs continue to work; only the brand and portal name changed.
Do I need Entra ID P1 or P2?
P1 is required for Conditional Access, group-based SSO, and password write-back. P2 adds Identity Protection, PIM and Access Reviews. We'll recommend the minimum tier per user during the assessment.
Can we keep our on-prem Active Directory?
Yes. We deploy Microsoft Entra Connect / Cloud Sync to keep your AD as the source of truth for user accounts while extending identity to the cloud.
Will MFA disrupt our staff?
Not if rolled out properly. We use a phased approach with comms templates, an internal trainer-of-trainers session and a Conditional Access policy that exempts trusted office IPs for the first two weeks.
What about service accounts and shared mailboxes?
We inventory them, convert what should become managed identities, and apply policy exclusions for those that genuinely need to remain interactive - documented in your access matrix.
